The story behind this use case
Jason L walks a no-code path to live stock quotes and options chains (including Greeks) inside Grok Bot.
Step 1: install the Grok Bot desktop app from cursor.com/bot/onboarding — the desktop app, not the browser chat, is what connects to outside tools. Step 2: open a Public brokerage account for free API access to live market data. Step 3: copy the secret key from Public → Settings → API (plus account ID if you have several); never paste keys into a public post. Step 4: tell Grok Bot in plain English to connect the Public MCP server — you approve the connector. Step 5: verify with a live quote.
The walkthrough is real. Step 2 used an affiliate link, so treat the brokerage pick as his, not a requirement.
